"As reported already, FC Barcelona see the signing of a top striker as economically viable in the summer of 2026, provided some key conditions are met. To that end, several targets have been identified, with two of them hailing from the Bundesliga - Harry Kane of Bayern Munich and Serhou Guirassy of Borussia Dortmund. However, as it turns out, the Blaugrana are also looking at the Bundesliga giants for potential reinforcements in the centre-back department as well."
"Schlotterbeck, to that end, is seen as a strong target. The Borussia Dortmund star, 25, has a contract that runs until 2027 and has so far resisted attempts from the Black and Yellows to renew his deal. If no agreement is finalised over an extension, Dortmund will be forced to sell their ace defender next year, with a fee of around €40 million being touted."
"Upamecano, on the other hand, is set to become a free agent in the summer, with his contract at Bayern Munich expiring at the end of the season. The French international is in talks with the Bundesliga champions over an extension, but no agreement has been reached so far, leaving the doors open for an exit. As such, Barcelona are looking at the former RB Leipzig ace and view him as a realistic target."
FC Barcelona consider signing a top striker economically viable in summer 2026 if key financial conditions are met. Several striker targets include Harry Kane of Bayern Munich and Serhou Guirassy of Borussia Dortmund. Barcelona technical staff have scouted in Germany and are additionally monitoring centre-back options. The club is interested in Nico Schlotterbeck of Borussia Dortmund and Dayot Upamecano of Bayern Munich to fill defensive gaps after Inigo Martinez's departure and potential uncertainty over Andreas Christensen. Schlotterbeck's contract runs until 2027 and he has resisted Dortmund renewal attempts, possibly forcing a sale for about €40m. Upamecano could become a free agent if no extension is agreed.
