Barcelona beat Alaves 3-1 in La Liga while starting nine Catalan-born players in the XI. Eric Garcia, Marc Bernal, Gerard Martin, Pau Cubarsi, Joan Garcia, Dani Olmo, Marc Casado, Lamine Yamal and Alejandro Balde all started and contributed to the victory. Players expressed pride in the local representation, calling the nine-Catalan lineup an honor and a definition of Barça’s Catalan identity. The win returned Barcelona to the top of the La Liga table. Real Madrid will have the opportunity to respond on Sunday when they face Girona in their next league match.
