The delivery coincided with a week-long programme ahead of COP30 focused on sustainability and innovation. SPTrans banned procurement of new diesel buses in 2022. The 1,000th electric unit is a 15-metre Eletra model built on a Scania platform with WEG motors, operated by Transpass on routes from western districts to the city centre. New vehicles provide air-conditioning, USB charging, onboard Wi-Fi, and integration with SmartSampa.
