Bromley school robotics team to take part in global youth finals in Panama

Powercut Robotics from Langley Park School for Boys won the Inspire Award at the FIRST UK Tech Challenge Championship, which allowed them to represent Team Great Britain at FIRST Global in Panama. The event included 63 teams competing at the Copper Box Arena and demonstrated impressive engineering innovation and community impact. The team, alongside partners from The Norwood School, excelled in the INTO THE DEEP challenge, showcasing both autonomous and driver-controlled robot performance. The championship emphasized the importance of STEM and its potential to inspire young people to pursue engineering careers.
Winning first place in the entire competition and the Inspire Award is something we could never have imagined when we started this journey a year and a half ago.
The UK Championship showcased the engineering excellence and ambition of young people nationwide who are the future of STEM.
When STEM is as fun and inspiring as sport, we can build the diversity of minds this industry needs to drive innovation.
With industry partners like Bloomberg beside us, we're broadening opportunities for young people to pursue their passions in STEM.
