A federal portal for reporting foreign gifts and contracts to higher education displayed Palantir branding before switching to an Education Department logo, prompting scrutiny. The portal collects disclosures required under Section 117 when foreign sources give colleges or universities more than $250,000 in a year. The Education Department said Palantir worked as a subcontractor for Monkton and described the involvement in the past tense. The department said the portal was upgraded to make institutional reporting easier.
