East Bay restaurants, bars, bakeries and cafes faced tariffs, egg shortages, inflation, labor struggles and shifting customer tastes in 2025 while continuing to serve memorable dishes and drinks. The Nosh Awards expanded to 10 categories, adding Best Bakery, Best Breakfast, Best Coffee Shop and Best Wine Bar alongside existing restaurant and bar categories. Nominations are open through Sunday, Nov. 2, followed by a two-week public voting period, with winners announced at the beginning of December. Only East Bay businesses are eligible. Kickoff happy hour Oct. 22, 5-7 p.m. at Brix Factory Brewing offers drink discounts and on-site nomination ballots.
