"Currently, there is no connection for all models and types of internal combustion engines. Any vehicle can be blocked. "The Porsche Vehicle Tracking System is designed to seamlessly operate in a covert fashion, eliminating the need for daily activation and deactivation."
Hundreds of Porsche vehicles in Russia have become inoperable after the satellite-based anti-theft Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) prevented engines from starting or caused engines to stop shortly after ignition. The problem began with first reported cases on 28 November and affects cars built after 2013 that include the VTS. Russia's largest Porsche dealership, Rolf, said the cause is unknown and could be deliberate sabotage. Dealership technicians report that a loss of connection affects all internal combustion engine models and that blocking can sometimes be bypassed by resetting and disassembling the factory alarm unit while investigation and unlocking efforts continue. Porsche notes the VTS operates covertly without daily activation.
