I knew straight away. There is an instinct inside you, and when you have been feeling unwell, it just all made sense."
"Lauren had been struggling with symptoms of emotional dysregulation and extreme fatigue in the year before the accident, but said it was put down to her hormones or then-undiagnosed ADHD. She said she went to her GP three times for various tests, as she was also experiencing gut issues, as well as blackouts. The fatigue was so bad Lauren moved from full time to part time work."
Lauren Macpherson, 29, was traveling home to Cardiff after celebrating passing her work exams and purchasing her first home when a 35lb suitcase fell from overhead storage onto her head. Initial medical concerns focused on potential spine fractures, but a CT scan revealed a brain shadow. An MRI subsequently confirmed a brain tumor, diagnosed as terminal cancer. Lauren had experienced prior symptoms including emotional dysregulation, extreme fatigue, blackouts, and gut issues over the preceding year, which were initially attributed to hormones or undiagnosed ADHD. Despite visiting her GP multiple times, these symptoms went undiagnosed until the accident prompted medical imaging that revealed her condition.
