"A special weather statement for wind gusts up to 80 kilometres per hour and blowing snow has been issued for most of the Greater Toronto Area by Environment Canada. Meanwhile it issued a yellow weather alert for Halton region due to the added risk of significantly reduced visibility from the snow. About four to eight centimetres of snow is expected by Friday evening throughout the GTA, said the national weather agency."
"It warned of frostbite risk and possible snow squalls as a cold front is forecasted from Friday night until Saturday morning. That front will also bring back frigid temperatures with a low of -19 C that will feel like -31 C overnight. A cold front from Friday night to Saturday morning could bring snow squalls, frostbite risk and frigid temperatures. Overnight lows near -19 C will feel like -31 C with dangerous wind chills. Residents are advised to bundle up, avoid non-essential travel in Halton, carry emergency supplies and stay sheltered indoors or in vehicles.
