Environment Canada warns of snowy conditions in Newmarket, Vaughan, surrounding areas | CBC News
"The weather agency issued a snow squall warning for Newmarket, Georgina and Northern York, with total snowfall amounts between 10 to 20 centimetres possible. The snow should last into the afternoon, forecasters say, with the bulk of the accumulation along and north of a line from Newmarket to Uxbridge to Port Perry. The snow will be accompanied by northwesterly winds gusting 50 to 60 km/h. As a result, blowing snow will further reduce visibility."
"Some parts of the Greater Toronto Area should watch for potentially hazardous snow conditions Thursday, Environment Canada warns. Travel will likely be hazardous. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Environment Canada says there is uncertainty as to the exact location of any developing snow squalls, and accumulations may be quite variable across the region. A special weather statement is also in effect for Vaughan."
