"Katie Furey, Cupertino basketball: The senior guard averaged 15.5 points per game in two games against Palo Alto and Wilcox, adding 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists. She led all scorers in both games, both wins. Her game-winning 3-pointer with five seconds remaining helped Cupertino beat Palo Alto 36-35. Allie Garrett, Livermore soccer: Garrett, a sophomore midfielder, scored the game-winning goal as Livermore beat Dublin 1-0."

Nominees include Katie Furey, a Cupertino senior who averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists and hit a game-winning 3; Allie Garrett, a Livermore sophomore midfielder who scored the 1-0 winner and controlled midfield; Trinity Lacy, a Santa Teresa junior who scored 24 and also posted 22 points, 13 rebounds and seven steals; and Abby Nelson, a Los Gatos junior striker who scored two goals in wins.
