Judge Javier Alcala denied a motion to return more than 30 items seized in a 2023 raid and ordered only three items returned, including two documents and a laptop belonging to Becker's mother. Becker was convicted of perjury for lying about leaking a 2022 Civil Grand Jury report to San Francisco 49ers executives and served a 40-day sheriff's work sentence plus 40 hours of community service. Prosecutors said they must retain items in case an appeal leads to retrial and reexamination of evidence. Alcala ordered prosecutors to list passcode-locked and unexamined items and said devices could be returned if passcodes show no evidence. Becker's lawyers said the devices contain his film portfolio and personal documents needed for employment.
