Reese Witherspoon visits Boston bookstore
""Author, astute businesswoman, extraordinary actress and a kind, well wisher to all,""
""joined us for a private dinner in the bookstore while in town for her case discussion""
""I had no idea when we were doing that and building that, when I was 23 years old, that 25 years later you guys [would be] watching it on campus at Harvard,""
""I believe as women we all need these charming, hilarious, insightful, and diverse stories ... Our books have the power to spark discussions, make us laugh when we need it most, and bond us over something bigger than ourselves,""
Reese Witherspoon visited Beacon Hill Books and Cafe in Boston, joined a private dinner in the bookstore, and signed copies of her debut novel Gone Before Goodbye, co-authored by Harlan Coben. Gone Before Goodbye became an instant New York Times bestseller. Witherspoon was in town for a case discussion at Harvard Business School and spoke to a class and the larger school community. She reflected on Legally Blonde being filmed when she was 23 and on students watching it at Harvard 25 years later. She described Reese's Book Club's focus on woman-centered monthly selections and said books can spark discussions, provide laughter, and bond readers. During a 2023 Boston visit she enjoyed clam chowder, Dunkin' cream pie specials, and the duck tour.
