Pro-Palestinian Protesters Arrested at Columbia, UW, Beyond
Briefly

On Wednesday, around 80 pro-Palestinian protesters were arrested at Columbia University after occupying a reading room in its library. This incident follows a year after a significant protest movement at Columbia. Although current protest numbers are lower than last spring, various campuses have seen renewed demonstrations, often demanding institutions divest from companies associated with Israel. Continued pressure is evident as frustrations grow over responses from university administrations and political figures, particularly amid ongoing criticism from the Trump administration regarding their handling of protests related to antisemitic concerns.

The protests also come amid President Donald Trump's ongoing attacks on institutions that he believes failed to protect Jewish students during last year's demonstrations.
