Revel Rascal SL Dream Build: Hand-Picked Components for the Ultimate Trail Bike
"The Revel Rascal has been a staple in the Revel Bikes lineup since the brand launched in 2019, and after building and riding one, I can see why it's stood the test of time. Recently, the Rascal has lost a bit of weight and received the "SL" designation. Despite the weight savings, it has retained all the attributes that make it such a noteworthy and absurdly capable trail bike,"
"For this build, I wanted to leave the batteries out of the equation and focus on all-out versatility - a characteristic that the Rascal is praised for. When selecting components, I turned up the dial a little bit on what a trail bike can be, and to do that, I went with bigger brakes, aggressive tires, and a drivetrain that would take a beating without faltering."
"The Revel Rascal SL has been an absolute dream to ride for many reasons, and a full review is coming soon. Thank you to all the brands who supported this build, and shoutout to Bauerhaus for taking the time to get this rolling, and Grif for being such a mellow shop dog during the build. Revel Rascal SL Dream Build Details Frame Size: XL"
The Revel Rascal SL is a lighter iteration of the Revel Rascal that preserves the model’s trail-capable geometry and performance. A custom XL build assembled at Bauerhaus Bikes in Boise pairs a Fox Factory 36 SL Grip X fork and Fox Float X Factory shock with Enve M6 wheels and Schwalbe Magic Mary 29x2.5 tires. The build emphasizes versatility and durability by excluding batteries, fitting larger brakes, aggressive tires, and a robust drivetrain, plus Orange Seal Endurance sealant. Component choices aim to push trail capabilities while maintaining familiar handling for thorough evaluation and all-day riding.
