V&A East will open to the public on April 18, 2026 as a 7,000 square metre museum in Stratford's East Bank cultural quarter. The museum forms part of a broader programme of V&A developments across London, following a Bethnal Green revamp that reopened in June 2023 and the recent V&A East Storehouse. The new site will display 500 objects in the Why We Make Galleries across two floors, organised into ten themes that address representation, identity, wellbeing, social justice and environmental action. Early visitors will also see the first iteration of a six-monthly creative commissions programme.
