Kathleen Goncharov died on 31 December at age 73. She served as senior curator at the Boca Raton Museum of Art from 2012 until her retirement last year. She held curatorial positions at the Nasher Museum of Art, the MIT List Visual Arts Center, the New School and worked at Creative Time and the pioneering New York gallery Just Above Midtown. Goncharov was commissioner of the US Pavilion at the 2003 Venice Biennale, collaborating with Fred Wilson. She exhibited her polychromatic abstract paintings at Olympia in 2022. She earned degrees from Central Michigan University and the University of Michigan.
