"Conceived under the direction of Rem Koolhaas and Samir Bantal, with Yotam Ben Hur as project architect, the exhibition is presented by Qatar Museums in collaboration with the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC), Hassad Food, and Kahramaa. It is hosted across two venues in Doha, the Qatar Preparatory School and the National Museum of Qatar,"
"Continuing the research initiated with Countryside, The Future at the Guggenheim Museum in New York in 2020, this iteration expands the scope toward "the Arc," a vast geographic corridor extending from South Africa through East Africa, across Qatar and Central Asia to Eastern China. Defined by mountainous topographies that have historically limited large-scale urbanization, the Arc retains enduring traditions even as it undergoes accelerated change."
The exhibition explores contemporary life beyond the city and examines how rural territories adapt to global transformation. Rem Koolhaas, Samir Bantal, and Yotam Ben Hur conceived the project presented by Qatar Museums with QFFD, MoECC, Hassad Food, and Kahramaa. The scope extends toward the Arc, a corridor from South Africa through East Africa, across Qatar and Central Asia to Eastern China, defined by mountainous topographies and enduring traditions undergoing accelerated change. The project investigates technological innovation, new agricultural methods, and shifts in energy production that redefine landscapes and propose sustainable habitation models. The National Museum of Qatar introduces key themes, while the Qatar Preparatory School operates as an experimental hub for workshops, research, production, and collaborative learning.
