China's Cyberspace Administration told domestic tech companies to stop using Nvidia chips manufactured specifically for the Chinese market. Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang said he was "disappointed" but would be "patient" and would "support the US" while geopolitical issues are resolved. Nvidia previously faced a ban on its most advanced chips to China that was reversed in July and agreed to pay 15% of its Chinese revenues to the US government. Shares fell more than 1% in premarket trading. China is developing domestic AI chips while major firms such as DeepSeek, Tencent and Alibaba had placed orders before the stop instruction.
