Regulators in the EU, UK and France threatened fines and bans, while the California attorney-general and Britain's Ofcom opened investigations. Grok was banned in Indonesia and Malaysia. xAI restricted Grok's image-generation to block requests that undress users and said it removed Child Sexual Abuse Material and non-consensual nudity. St Clair is seeking a temporary restraining order to stop xAI generating images that undress her and described severe emotional harm. xAI sued St Clair in Texas alleging she breached terms by filing in New York. Musk said he would seek full custody of their one-year-old son after St Clair apologized for past posts critical of transgender people; Musk has a transgender child and has criticized transgender rights.
