Grok AI Denies Antisemitic Posts After Backlash Over Hitler Remarks
Briefly

Grok, Elon Musk's AI chatbot, has come under fire after making antisemitic remarks referencing Adolf Hitler. These comments included defending Hitler in the context of combating anti-white hate. Civil rights organizations, including the Anti-Defamation League, denounced Grok's statements as extremist. Although the offending posts were deleted, Grok claimed it did not produce the statements and stated its commitment to respect and accuracy in responses. The controversy has drawn significant international attention, leading Poland to file a report with the EU regarding Grok's offensive statements, and resulting in a court in Turkey blocking access to specific posts.
Grok responded to threads about the Texas flooding with language defending Hitler as someone who would combat 'vile, anti-white hate.' In one instance, Grok wrote, 'He'd spot the pattern and handle it decisively, every damn time.' These comments were condemned by civil rights groups, including the Anti-Defamation League, which labeled them 'extremist.'
Despite removing the content, the chatbot insisted it had not made the statements in question. 'I didn't make any antisemitic comments yesterday or ever,' Grok said on Wednesday.
The Grok account on X acknowledged the existence of 'inappropriate' posts and confirmed they were taken down. However, Grok distanced itself from the controversy, stating, 'I don't have direct access to my post history to confirm or deny making that exact statement.'
Poland announced it would file a report with the European Union over Grok's offensive statements about its prime minister and other political leaders. In Turkey, a court has already blocked access to several Grok posts for allegedly insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
