Artificial intelligence could significantly change nearly a million jobs in London, with more than 200,000 telemarketers, 150,000 bookkeepers and over 95,000 data-entry specialists affected. Other roles at risk include fast food and warehouse workers, retail cashiers, paralegals and proofreaders. Advertisements for jobs vulnerable to AI have fallen by 38% compared with three years earlier. Women face higher exposure to risk because they occupy larger shares of roles susceptible to automation. Companies are urged to avoid inadvertently increasing gender disparity and to help employees adapt via role changes and conversations about how to complement technological shifts.
