Dear Micromanager: Your Distrust Has a Better Job

A Verification Architect decides which AI tasks should be handled in Assist mode, Automate mode, or Avoid mode using the A3 framework. The role defines what review means for each mode and runs a verification loop that converts AI failures into sharper prompts, evaluation methods, or acceptance criteria. Verification focuses on whether the system produces the claimed outcome under real operating conditions, rather than whether rules were followed. In smaller organizations, this responsibility often sits with a Product Manager, Scrum Master, QA lead, or technical lead. Micromanagers may be well suited because they insist on seeing drafts, refining acceptance criteria, and clarifying decisions, believing their oversight is necessary before shipping.
