I clung to a lie, out loud, as if praying, hoping to relax the panic that held me... It kept me writing, the lie, though it's about to fall apart. I'll let no one read this book, I told myself.
For one thing, Exhibit explores plural kinds of desire, including physical longing, much of it queer; having grown up Korean, Catholic, and evangelical, I can't quite escape the triple helping of lust-prohibiting shame and guilt I've known since I was a child.
