According to NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey, officers witnessed two men fighting, with one pointing a gun at the other. Despite warnings, the suspect attempted to flee, resulting in officers firing their weapons.
Maddrey stated that the man was Tased and ordered to drop the gun, but he tried to escape once more. The suspect was later hospitalized and pronounced dead.
