Teen still fighting for life after being shot and stabbed in Dagenham ambush'

A 19-year-old was found with stab wounds at the scene near to the polling station at Becontree Methodist Church. The initial call to the police had mentioned a stabbing, but a second call shortly after suggested that gun shots were heard in the area.
Met Police earlier said that the man was stabbed, but later added that he was stabbed and shot. He was rushed to the hospital where he still remains in life-threatening condition a week after.
Detective Inspector Iain Wallace stated, 'This wasn't a disagreement or a fight, it was an ambush that has left a 19-year-old fighting for his life. Enquiries are moving forward to identify the others involved.'
