Togo's ruling party UNIR won 108 out of 113 parliamentary seats, following constitutional amendments that critics fear could perpetuate President Gnassingbe's rule.
The amendments transition Togo from a presidential to a parliamentary regime, making the president's role largely ceremonial while introducing a new role of president of the council of ministers.
