Interference in GPS around the Baltic Sea and northern Norway has caused disruptions in flights and maritime navigation. Accusations of intentional jamming by Russia with electronic warfare systems have been made.
Tens of thousands of flights have been affected, leading to the activation of alternative systems. Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 triggered recurring GPS interference in the region, particularly in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
