Robert Smith, 59, was the driver and sole occupant of the 2015 Jeep Compass that crashed, State Police said. He was not wearing a seatbelt and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Smith's Jeep, traveling north, hit a wall just before Exit 17 and came to rest on its passenger side. The crash remains under investigation.
