The sticking point in the negotiations between Bayern and Thomas Tuchel is currently about the contract. Bayern bosses would like Tuchel to simply run down his current contract until 2025. The coach, meanwhile, is demanding an extension.
The club has recently incurred extremely high expenses in the form of severance payments to coaches, that's why they now want to avoid such expenses as much as possible in the future. But to convince Tuchel to stay, the club may have to accept giving him a new deal.
The problem for the coach is that names like Xabi Alonso, Jürgen Klopp, and maybe even Pep Guardiola are all expected to be available in the summer of 2025.
