The 2023 edition of the Austin City Limits Music Festival generated nearly half a billion dollars in economic impact for the area, represented a 12 percent increase over the previous year's impact, and equated to 3,766 full-time jobs.
The festival made an $8.1 million donation to the Austin Parks Foundation, enabling improvements in various parks across all City Council districts, in addition to the financial contributions to return Zilker Park to normalcy post-event.
AngelouEconomics conducted an economic analysis of the festival, calculating attendee spending and operational costs, resulting in direct, indirect, and induced spending that boosts the local economy.
Colin Wallis, CEO of Austin Parks Foundation, discussed the collaboration with the Parks and Recreation Department to identify and prioritize parks in need of enhancements, further underscoring the festival's positive impact on the community.
