"The emails seem to paint a different portrait of the Trump-Epstein relationship than the one Maxwell painted in a July 24, 2025 prison interview during which she told Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, I don't think they were close friends or I certainly never witnessed the President in any of I don't recall ever seeing him in [Epstein's] house, for instance."
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released multiple emails showing Epstein describing President Donald Trump as "the dog that hasn't barked" and claiming an alleged victim spent hours at Epstein's house with Trump. Maxwell replied that she had been thinking about that. Maxwell later told Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche that she did not recall seeing Trump at Epstein's house and said they were not close friends. Separate emails with author Michael Wolff include Epstein writing that Trump asked him to resign and asserting Trump knew about the girls, while Wolff warned Epstein CNN might ask Trump about their relationship.
