England’s first choice, Sporting Kansas City’s performance centre, was unavailable because Argentina secured it. England will use Swope Soccer Village, home to Sporting Kansas City academy teams, located about 20 minutes from the hotel. England will fly in and out of Kansas City for matches, with the tournament opener against Croatia in Dallas on 17 June. The facility will receive an outdoor gym and a players’ lounge, and further protection will be built around the training area.
