Spyro The Dragon Fan Finds A Piece Of Lost History
A Spyro the Dragon promotional statue from Sony’s 2000 E3 booth was recovered by a fan in St. Helens, Oregon. The statue originally stood at Sony’s E3 booth overlooking attendees playing Spyro: Year of the Dragon. After the event, it was stored with a Crash statue in a Forest Grove warehouse, then gifted to the building’s owner when Sony moved out. The Arc Arcade in Astoria later acquired and displayed the statue until it closed in 2017. The statue then went missing until a fan recognized it in footage showing it at an abandoned gas station and traveled to locate it.
""I actually found out about this statue because my boyfriend showed me a reel and was like, '[Momoka], check this out!' they said in a message to . "I was right in the middle of playing Dark Souls III at the time, so I was honestly so confused. Nowadays, you can't even tell what's real and what's AI anymore, you know? It was bugging me, so I literally paused my game to dive into the comments, hoping to dig up some clues.""
