Quarterfinals concluded for city section high school softball playoffs across Open Division and Divisions I through IV. In the Open Division, Granada Hills defeated Granada Hills Kennedy 3-2, and Granada Hills advanced as the top seed. Division I saw Venice beat San Fernando 2-0, Chatsworth defeat Chavez 1-0, Eagle Rock defeat Port of LA 5-2, and Verdugo Hills defeat Marquez 1-0. Division II featured LA Marshall defeating Northridge Academy 10-4, Sylmar defeating Cleveland 12-1, Arleta defeating North Hollywood 11-3, and Taft defeating Sun Valley Poly 14-5. Division III included Palisades 18-6 over Van Nuys, South East 22-4 over Maywood Academy, Westchester 10-0 over VAAS, and Reseda 15-8 over LACES. Division IV results included Vaughn 17-5 over Smidt Tech, Huntington Park 16-2 over Downtown Magnets, Franklin 7-2 over Bernstein, and Diego Rivera 11-1 over CALS Early College. Semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday at 3 p.m., with finals May 29-30 at TBD.
