Accused molester denies touching any children but says alleged victim exposed himself to him

An 84-year-old man on trial for 14 felony charges testified that an alleged victim exposed himself after telling him he was gay. He said the boy invited him to his room during a trip, confessed his sexual orientation, and then touched himself while lowering his pants. Russell testified that he told the boy they could not do that and left the room. He also testified that another occasion involved the same boy exposing himself at his house after sleeping over. Russell further testified that a later phone call included demands that he confess to sex when the boy was 10, along with claims involving suicide, parental divorce, and threats to involve a therapist.

"A few months later, the boy bombarded Russell with irrational allegations over a phone call, Russell said. The boy told Russell to confess they had sex together when he was 10 years old, Russell said. Russell said he was concerned for the boy because he was talking about suicide and his parents were getting divorced. The boy threatened Russell to confess to touching him sexually or else he would tell his therapist, Russell said. "We both know what we did," Russell said."
