
South Leinster Schools track and field championships took place in Carlow over three successive weeks, with athletes qualifying for Leinster championships based on their results. Mikey Kent of Good Counsel (New Ross) won the long jump with a championship-best 7.19 metres. Three Bree AC athletes earned podium finishes in field events, including Léa Bolger winning the Senior girls 4kg hammer with a personal best of 41.61 metres and placing second in the 4kg shot put. Ava Wilson won the Intermediate high jump at 1.53 metres and was second in long jump. Ruth Hassey placed third in Inter girls long jump. Izzy Aspel won Inter 80 metres hurdles and shot put, while Kayleigh Butler placed fourth in Inter 300 metres. Multiple DMP and St. Peter's athletes also won medals across track and field events.

Ellie Kehoe - same club, same school - was fourth in both 100 metres and long jump. Staying with DMP, Niamh McCarthy was second in Minor high jump, Saoirse Flanagan was second in Inter 800 metres, and Alannah Flanagan was fourth in Minor 1,100 metres."
