The Chef Behind Kinkan Heads to Hermosa Beach With a Chirashi- and Bento-Focused Market
Nan Yimcharoen, chef behind Thai Japanese tasting menu restaurant Kinkan, will open Kinkan Market in Hermosa Beach in July at 1200 Pacific Coast Highway. Kinkan ended its five-year run in Virgil Village in March 2026 to prepare for a move to West Los Angeles development, West Edge. The market will feature bento boxes and chirashi, returning to items served during an earlier underground pop-up. It will also sell specialty ingredients, sake, beer, and tea, plus pottery and home goods. Yimcharoen is currently hosting Kinkan pop-ups in Kyoto and preparing for a West Edge location with a kaiseki-style menu at a 15-person counter opening in 2027.
