A friendly basketball blitz brought together four clubs from Wicklow and Wexford at Avondale Community College in Rathdrum. Aughrim Red Kites organized the event, joined by Greystones Sharks, Wicklow Gators, and Gorey Rams. Games ran from 9.30am until after 6pm, with 20 matches played in good spirits. Boys’ and girls’ teams competed at Under 9, Under 11, and Under 13 levels. Coaches from all clubs helped referee, and parents provided strong support. Gerard Keenan thanked the college principal for the facilities and praised performances. Since forming in November 2025, Aughrim Red Kites had been invited to blitz matches in multiple towns, and the club now has over 100 players.
