Record Club aims to fill the gap for music fans by offering a streamlined, modern interface similar to Letterboxd. Users can rate and review records, mark albums as listened to, and view friends’ listening activity. The platform shows trending albums among users and includes profile areas for five favorite albums and five records in heavy rotation. Users can create and share custom ranked or unranked lists for purposes like tracking top albums of the year or building genre-focused recommendations. A queue feature helps track albums to listen to later. Users can follow artists and record labels, and the service uses MusicBrainz data.
"You can follow your favorite artists as well as entire record labels. That makes it easy to stay on top of new artists on labels like 4AD, AD 93, Fire Talk, and Warp. Record Club pulls all of its data from the open-source music encyclopedia MusicBrainz."
