Weekly poll results: Sony Xperia 1 VIII might be a hit, despite its high price

Nearly a quarter of voters are willing to spend €1,500 or £1,400 for the base 12/256GB Xperia 1 VIII. The 512GB and 1TB models cost more, reaching €2,000/£1,850 for the 1TB version. Positive sentiment may be driven by the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD slot, since the Xperia 1 VIII is the only flagship offering those features. Broader interest is constrained because the phone was not launched in several major markets. Complaints include a 6.5-inch 1080p+ display that does not match the price, insufficient cooling for the chipset, and minimal battery and charging improvements. Camera performance is viewed as insufficient for the price compared with similarly priced Ultra phones.
