Ousted Buffalo Bills Coach Sean McDermott Buys $5 Million Home in North Carolina-Months After He Was Fired by New York Team
Sean McDermott purchased a $5 million, five-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom home in Foxcroft, North Carolina, near the Carolina Panthers’ area. He previously served as Charlotte’s defensive coordinator for five years before becoming Buffalo Bills head coach in January 2017. Buffalo dismissed him in January after a loss to the Denver Broncos. Bills owner Terry Pegula said the decision was influenced largely by quarterback Josh Allen’s reaction, including Allen’s visible distress and lack of acknowledgment. McDermott later thanked the Buffalo community for embracing him and his family and indicated he would miss Buffalo, while not yet naming his next career move.

I looked around, the first thing I noticed was our quarterback with his head down, crying. I looked at all the other players. I looked at their faces and our coaches. I walked over to Josh, he didn't even acknowledge I was there.”"
"McDermott later issued a statement of thanks to the team and the community of Buffalo for being so kind to him and his family for so many years. “This community graciously embraced not only me but my family and in some ways helped raise our children over the last nine years,” he said. At the time, he hinted at his plans to move on, adding: “We will miss Buffalo.”"
