Grange students create app to make learning sign language simple and engaging
Students from Grange Post Primary School represented Sligo at the Foróige Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2026 at Croke Park. Their business, Lámhline, is an interactive sign language app designed to support greater inclusion and communication across communities. The app makes learning sign language simple and engaging through games and quizzes that encourage practice in a fun way. Lámhline aims to help create a more inclusive Ireland by making sign language learning accessible to everyone. Wayne Travers, Chairperson of Foróige, praised the young people’s creativity and drive, noting that the work reflects confidence, empathy, resilience, and ambition, with benefits extending beyond business.
