E-scooter and officer crash near Buckingham Palace
An e-scooter rider and a police officer were taken to a major trauma centre after a collision outside Buckingham Palace. The crash occurred at 16:00 BST at the bottom of Constitution Hill, where police cordoned off the area for hours. London Ambulance Service sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, and dispatched London Air Ambulance via car. Two males were treated at the scene and taken to hospital as a priority. The Metropolitan Police said the officer was on foot at the eastern end of Constitution Hill next to Buckingham Palace. Both were assessed as having non-life threatening and non-life changing injuries. The scene remained cordoned off while injuries were confirmed, and officers challenged cyclists attempting to pass through the cordon. The palace was not flying the Royal Standard at the time, indicating King Charles was not present.
