Germany reaches out to Gulf states about Iran war

Germany’s foreign minister set a diplomatic tone amid concerns that traditional diplomacy may have limited influence. He met with Turkey’s foreign minister, attended a conference on energy security in Ukraine, and received leaders from the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Ukraine’s experience defending itself against Russia has improved protection of energy infrastructure against external attacks, offering lessons for Germany.
