Kilmore SCOPE marked 20 years with a well-attended celebration at the AOH Hall in Bridgetown, hosted by the steering committee for older people. The event brought together local artists for traditional music, song, storytelling, good food, and community craic, with special guests including George Lawlor TD, Cllr Jim Codd, and Frank Staples. Local talent performed, and audience members were encouraged to join with instruments and voices. Kilmore SCOPE Community information office opened 20 years ago and provides help, information, IT support, and other services on a voluntary basis. It serves Bridgetown, Kilmore, Kilmore Quay, Mulrankin, Baldwinstown, and surrounding areas, and continues to grow while planning to serve communities for many more years.
"“You have all been long-standing, dedicated advocates for the community and especially for older people and people experiencing rural isolation,” the group said."
