
Morgan Rogers was named UEFA Europa League Player of the Season after contributing to Aston Villa’s 3-0 victory over Freiburg in the final. He scored and made an assist, helping end a 30-year wait for a major trophy. Across the tournament, Rogers scored three goals and recorded five assists in 15 appearances, playing 1,088 minutes, 67 more than any other Villa player. The award precedes expectations that he will be named in England manager Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad. Emiliano Martinez, John McGinn, and Emi Buendia were also named in the team of the season, joined by Nottingham Forest players Igor Jesus and Morato.
