Steve Beuerlein lived his dream with the Cowboys at Super Bowl XXVII

The Dallas Cowboys won Super Bowl XXVII in Pasadena and sparked a dynasty that changed many lives, including Steve Beuerlein’s. Beuerlein was a key part of the team’s run that led to the franchise’s first title against the Buffalo Bills. He was from near the Rose Bowl, making the victory especially meaningful to him. In recent years, Beuerlein has focused on combating heart disease by enrolling in Heartflow’s GAMEFILM Registry, which analyzes the heart health of former professional athletes. The program addresses the fact that up to one in three retired professional football players die from cardiovascular disease, while risk factors remain insufficiently understood. Heartflow aims to increase attention to cardiovascular risk alongside progress made for brain injuries.
