
Dave Bliss, age 40, is a University of Georgia alumnus who played for the Bulldogs from 2004 to 2008 and was Co-MVP of the 2007-08 SEC Tournament championship team. After his senior season, he stayed at Georgia as a volunteer assistant, then joined Virginia Commonwealth University under former Georgia assistant Mike Jones. At VCU, he worked with NBA Draft prospect Larry Sanders and developed a relationship with Thunder GM Sam Presti while Presti scouted Sanders. In 2010, at 23, OKC hired Bliss as a video coordinator. He remained with the Thunder until 2015, then joined the New York Knicks as an assistant coach focused on player development and coaching needs.
