
Brandon Sanderson is a highly prolific speculative fiction writer whose work spans multiple popular series. He was selected by Robert Jordan’s widow to complete the final three Wheel of Time books, a major high-fantasy franchise. Although his novels have not yet been released as films or television, several adaptations are in development. He partnered with Apple to develop projects based on his interconnected Cosmere universe, starting with Mistborn. A Starlight Archives television adaptation is also planned, and his Cytoverse young adult sci-fi novels are receiving a TV series. Skyward is set to premiere as a live-action series, with Sanderson writing the pilot and executive-producing alongside Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. The story follows Spensa Night, a 17-year-old on Detritus, where humanity fights recurring alien invasions by the Krell.
